Leeds Trinity University International Conference 2024

'Ethics and Values for the Businesses of the Future: Building a New University Culture for a Global World'

Held online 13th September 2024

Cost £30

Detailed Description

‘As the world becomes more digitally informed and diverse in all aspects, so do our businesses.  It can be difficult to navigate the competitive demands on businesses seeking profits when employees are also calling for better working conditions and pay, respect for work-life balance and  improved mental health support.  Coupled with this are the global demands to become more sustainable in all areas of our working and personal lives and to provide education that not only embeds care for the earth into its curriculum but seeks to develop graduates to be skilled and values-driven at one and the same time. Business ethics is not a new field of study but in a rapidly changing and volatile business world, values and virtues need to play a part in ensuring that economic growth does not come as the cost of human dignity or the climate. Universities can play a vital role in preparing the ground for developing the business leaders of the future who will be innovative and competitive whilst taking the time to develop an informed conscience about the need to continuously engage in the search for what both economically and humanly good. All are welcome to join us for our conference that links with our mission and values as a university and brings together perspectives from the private and public sectors to create a forum in which new approaches to ‘doing business’ in HEIs can emerge.’
