Virginia Woolf (1882-1941), novelist, esayist, diarist, letter writer and feminist, has so long inspired ceativity in others in a variety of genres and media: novels, plays, films,visual arts, music and dance. This anthology of specially commissioned new poems contributes to this tradition by providing a set of ekphrastic engagements with Woolf's life and writings and indeed with other creative responses to her work.

The poems in this collection enlarge the intertextual web we find in Woolf's work: they answer back to Woolf, they speak to works and words and pictures and films, and they are intertextual one of another.
